I have spent nearly two decades in the NICU, and I bring that firsthand clinical experience to every case I review. A registered nurse since 1998, I have practiced in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Boston Children's Hospital since 2004. Early in my nursing career, I worked with adults, but after joining the NICU, I found my passion in caring for newborns and infants. Boston Children's is a Level IV NICU, treating infants from birth through six months corrected gestational age, from critically ill newborns to those preparing for discharge home, including all medical and surgical consultations and ECMO. This allows me to review infant cases across a wide range of ages and levels of care, dating back to 2004. I hold critical care certification specific to the newborn population (CCRN-N), along with NRP and PALS certifications, and I am an active member of the Association of Critical Care Nurses and the National Association of Neonatal Nurses. I remain actively at the bedside today, which keeps my clinical knowledge current with the standards of care I am asked to evaluate. In certain instances, I can review pediatric cases as well.
